I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We sure did! This past week was our first road trip with Harper. It was also the first time we stayed away from home for a few days...so the car was packed! It's crazy that you spend the whole day before a trip planning for someone so small!
Here is Harper on Thanksgiving morning before we hit the road to West, TN.
We made it to Harper's Great Grandmother's house (Josh's grandmother) and eventually changed into our compfy clothes! Gobble Til You Wobble!
Meeting Cousin Lily
Too Much Turkey!
Hanging with Aunt Cheri
Playing on her activity mat with Lily
Spending time with Mommy
Chillin' with Grandpa Ron
Meeting Great Grandpa (Josh's Grandfather), Papa Blackie.
Much needed nap time for both mommy and baby!
I don't have any pictures of Harper with her Nana...mainly b/c when Jackie had her, I was eating, sleeping, or playing croquet with the rest of the family. It's great having a grand mother around on vacation!!
I am sure I will do several "big girl" posts over Harper's life...so be prepared! I realize that you tell people the age of a baby in weeks b/c they are constantly changing. Here are just a few pictures of "big girl" things Harper is doing.
She was holding her bottle all by herself today. She couldn't do it the whole time...but she is starting to try!
Sitting in her bumbo (again) like a big girl.
Now, she seems to last a lot longer and really enjoy looking around!
(PS I gave birth to the spit up Queen--that is why she is always in a bib/burp cloth)
Over the weekend, Aunt Aubrie was in town. While she was here, we went to see Bossy at work, went on a walk, went to Nordstrom, and had some good food!
YAY! Aunt Aubrie is here!
Hanging with my Great Grandma Anna
Aubrie snapped a picture of me with Harper.
Lunch with Aunt Aubrie before she left to go back home.
I can't believe how fast time has flown by!!! She is already such a different baby. Besides celebrating her first major holiday (Halloween), she has had a fun month! Here are a few random pictures that haven't made the blog yet.
Harper,
This month, you make the cutest faces and smile all the time!
Hey Girl Hey!
(I also think you might be right handed b/c you love to throw that arm around)
You have also started holding on to things. You are opening your hands more and grabbing things. Here you are with your new pal, Raffee.
(Do what I say Raffee...or else!)
Besides holding onto things, your mouth has discovered your hands. Every now and then, I will catch you sucking on your fist.
You love your changing table. You seem so content when we lay you down to change your diaper. I pray that never changes.
You are also an amazing sleeper.
This has been something I haven't blogged much about b/c I don't want to jinx it!
Over the last month, you will sleep for 6 hours, eat, and then head back to sleep for another 2-3 hours.
This has been such a blessing for mommy...even if we don't start it all until midnight!
These are just funny sleeping pictures.
Napping with Big Sister, Mally
"Oh life is so hard"
Loving your swing!
Lastly, You have found your voice!
We love to hear you "talk" all hours of the day. You are starting to show early signs of talking like your mother!!
(short video of Harper "talking")
The other day, you laughed for the first time. Like when you first started smiling, it happened in your sleep. You were all cozy and napping on daddy and then out of nowhere came the sweetest little laugh. It shocked us both and then we both started laughing.
We love watching you change and grow every day!
We can't wait to see what the upcoming months have in store!
My dad travels for work and won't be home for the next month....so we celebrated with my parents early. On Saturday, my mom decided to host Thanksgiving at her house on Sunday. I had planned on taking pictures throughout the night, but totally forgot.
Here are the two pictures I have from the day.
Bossy and Pawpaw with Harper
Our Yummy Dinner!
I will be sure and take more pictures when we celebrate Thanksgiving with Josh's family.
This morning, Harper had her 8 week doctor check up. This was the first appointment (since the hospital) where she got her vaccines. I was dreading it! We carried on her appointment as usual and got all her stats.
Age: 8 Weeks
Height: 23.5 Inches (93%)
Weight: 12 lbs. 13 oz. (96%)
Head 56.56 Inches (75"%)
Our Big and Growing Girl!
After our chat with the pediatrician, she got her shots. My eyes started watering when they wiped her legs down! Oh I am such a basket case. Thankfully, Josh was there to watch and help while I stared at the wall. The nurse was super fast and I was able to scoop Harper up in my arms as soon as she was finished. After just a minute of crying, our baby girl fell asleep on my shoulder. My eyes wouldn't stop watering! I don't know who cried more!?!? She was a trooper!
Here are a few shots from our morning.
