Covid-19 - Life in March 2020

The world is looking a little different lately.  The Covid-19 pandemic has taking over the world and we have been asked to stay home from work/school/activities for the unforeseeable future.  The last day the kids were in school was March 5.  As of now, they are going back April 24, but several states are out for the rest of the year.  So, this month, we have celebrated Gatlin & Houston's birthday at home, cancelled Spring Break, started homeschooling, and started a kitchen renovation.  To say it's been a bit crazy is an understatement.
This Covi-19 virus (Corona) is respitory and seems to impact people over the age of 60 most.  We are trying our best to stay healthy, sane, and comfortable.  This is by far the longest we have all been togehter as a family...and the kids are troopers.  They are bored every now and then, but for the most part, have really managed this well.  Here are some pictures of life with us lately.
First pedal bike ride for the boys somewhere other than our street.

We have spent a lot of mornings doing school work and fun science experiments.
We even had a mystery reader show up.

We have spent a lot of time outside and enjoying our family.
Our picnic in the yard was just what we needed ... especially trying to get
away from the kitchen demo.
The kids have all gotten to chat with their classmates online --it's the cutest thing to watch! Though, the kindergartners are a little bit louder than the second grade class.

We have also practiced "Social distancing" with the Clinages.

Covid-19 Creek Time

We have gotten to spend a lot of time outside during this quarantine. One of our favorite days was a scavenger hunt through the neighborhood and some creek time.

Gatlin & Houston's 6th Birthday - Quarantine Style

This year, we celebrated the boys birthday on the verge of "safer at home" during the Covid-19 Pandemic.  We originally planned to be at Disney World for their birthday. We had it all planned out and the parks shut down 4 days before we were scheduled to leave.  So, we did our best to celebrate "Disney-style" at home.  We were also able to have our last meal out (for quite some time) with the Zahns.  The highlight might have been the ice cream & trip to Dollar Tree.  With everything closing down, we were limited.  It was an unusual birthday - but we made the most of it.  Including mom's amazing face painting skills. :)

Hazelnut the Bunny

Just before everyone was on lock down due to the rapid spread of Covid-19, we were able to go visit our plan Hazelnut.  We like to visit him around Easter - but snuck it in early this year.  Thanks Ms. Ally & Mr. River for the field trip!

Gatlin & Houston's 6th Birthday Party

Gatlin and Houston had an awesome Pokemon/Ninja Warrior party at Summit Sports Center for their 6th Birthday. We invited everyone from both classes and had a great turnout.  The party was a week before spring - about 10 days early.  We didn't know that this would be the last time they would see their classmates for weeks (possibly months).  They all had a great time!  As always, we had incredible cakes from HomeStyle Bakery.

Last Outing Before Quarantine - March 2020

Knowing that Covid-19 was quickly approaching the US, we ventured out the Zoo - our last outing for quite some time. Maggie & Henry joined us and we had a blast.  B/c it was shortly after daylight savings, the animals were more alert than normal.  We stayed for 4 hours and saw everything we could. We even got to see newborn Kits at the nursery.
