Fun this June

After being quarantined to our home for several weeks, we were excited to get out with a few close friends.  We spent most days at the pool or playing outside.  We still don't know what to expect from Covid, so staying outside seems best.  We also had a momma duck sitting on eggs for the last month and her babies finally hatched.  Her name is Quarantina and we watched her take her flock along the tree line somewhere safe.  We are going to continue enjoying our summer and hope the kids can go back this fall.

Charleston: Sailing Day

One of our adventures in Charleston was a day on the sail boat.  Aubrie's father in law, David, was so sweet to take us out!  We did something new as a family and it was so fun! I even enjoyed the cuddles from Gatlin.  Of everyone, I think Daddy enjoyed it the most.

Summer Vacation in Charleston - Covid Style

This summer is a lot different for us. First of all, this is our first summer at home and not doing daycare-summer camp.  This is also our first summer during a pandemic.  So, you know, there's that.  Anyway, we decided in early June to take a quick trip to visit our cousins in Charleston for a little change of quarantine scenery.  We decided to fly - with the approval of the Booths - and masks were required.  We stocked up on sanitizer and mask and made the trip!
While we were there, we went to the beach, the pool, and were one of two families at the opening of the local water park (it was a little chilly).  We also snuck in some adult time while the kids had a babysitter.  Overall, it was good to see family, good to take a break from our, and good to get some coastal fresh air!

Harper's Dance Recital - Covid Style

This year, Harper changed dance studios and joined Legacy Dance.  This is the dance studio that took over Cathy's (my dance studio) when she retired.  Since we were in the middle of a pandemic during recital time, Harper didn't actually get to perform her 3 dances.  I hated that we missed out on seeing her perform - she worked so hard. This year was a big year for growth and development for her.  We still got her costumes and had a little fun on the porch. Maybe next year...

Basement Bathroom Update

The basement is an area of the house we have never really updated.  I realized that we are starting to have friends over to the pool and the only bathroom they used was not so fabulous.  So, for $40 I decided to purchase from sticky floor tiles and the rest of the update was done with items from around the house.  I am loving how it looks as a temporary fix!
