Pop Goes the Weasel

Ok, maybe not weasel...but pop goes the baby!  I am officially looking pregnant.  In some clothes, I still have that "does she have a beer gut" look...but in most, a baby bump.
(sorry the quality is not great)

Yesterday we had our 16 week appointment and everything looked good.  The doctor wanted to hear the heart beat before we left the office.  She tried for probably about a minute and couldn't find it.  She kept saying we had a shy baby and finally decided we needed an ultrasound.
I wasn't really worried...but bad thoughts do tend to creep in.
She got the ultrasound up and running, and everything looked great.  We got to see our little baby for the 3rd time!  She checked to see legs, arms, brain...and all is well!
PRAISE THE LORD!
After we walked out, Josh said, "I don't think our baby is shy.  I think our baby likes to take pictures".
I was dying.  A shy baby?  Us?  I don't think so.
I think it just wanted to be on the big screen!

Thank You!

I just wanted to say a quick "thank you" to everyone who commented, emailed, or g-chatted with me about our registry.  I really appreciate all your input.  We read over everything and adjusted the advice based on our needs as a family.  Of course, it is still a work in progress...but I feel we are off to a good start!
THANKS AGAIN!

Advice

All you moms and dads (I am sure there are a ton of dads reading my blog), I need your help!  It seems the moment you tell people you are pregnant, you get all kinds of good, great, and not so great advice. I appreciate it all...but sometimes it can seem overwhelming.  This weekend, Josh and I are going to start looking at baby stuff.  We know it's a little early...but we actually have the time this weekend...so we figured it wouldn't hurt to get started.
This is where I need help.  There are so many great and amazing products out there.  I would love to know your top 3 favor tie baby items you think we should consider.  Please also feel free to let me know things you thought you needed but didn't end up using, etc.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL THE ADVICE!

3 Years

Three years ago today, Josh and I were married.  It was one of the best days/nights of my life.  I am excited that we have been able to take this time to really enjoy, learn, and grow from one another.  This year for our anniversary, we are celebrating the life we have created that is growing inside me...mainly b/c I am still in the "sickness" stage and dinner out sounds horrible!

Josh-Happy Anniversary!  Thank you (and God) for the greatest anniversary present ever! I love you.

A Dozen...

...weeks that is.  We have made to the 12th week!  It is amazing for me to read about everything that has gone on inside my body since conception.  I find myself thinking about how God is truly incredible and without Him, this could not be possible.  It is surreal to think another human is growing inside of me.  I know many of you have experienced this before...but until it's your own body, you just don't quite get it!  Truly a MIRACLE!

We had our 12 week appointment last Friday, and everything looks great.  We got to see our little baby and hear the heartbeat for the first time.  Such an amazing sound.  Here are two pictures from the appointment.  Sorry for the quality. These were taken with my camera phone.
This is the right profile. I have done an artistic interpretation below for those of you  having trouble seeing the baby.
My moms friend and brother-in-law both said our baby looks like it has Elvis hair, so we have decided to call it Elvis...for now.  I don't know why I gave my baby a wing instead of arm. Just go with it.
Drama baby---this is my child for sure!
Headaches already? Let's hope not!
We are excited that we can finally shout from the roof tops that we are expecting a child!
xoxo
