Visiting Family in West, TN

Last weekend, Josh's grandfather (Papa Blackie), passed away.
Mentally, we had been prepared for it, as he had been in the hospital for the last few weeks.
But emotionally, you are never quite prepared.  Fortunately, Josh was able to visit him the weekend before.
Once the arrangements were made, we packed our whole house  our bags and headed out to West, TN
(warning: as usual, most of my pics are of Harper)
Playing at the funeral home. I was able to set up a little spot away from all the traffic so she could stretch out and play.
Center of attention with Uncle Skeeter, Grandmother, Nana, and Daddy.
Apparently, the shoes weren't helping her walk or crawl so we took them off...I was slightly cringing.
She didn't mind.

Just working on the car with her daddy.
Walking with Nana
Reading some books...right outside the play area.
Hanging with the Gov. Notice the ball in his pocket. Hilarious.
After a little time at the funeral home, we headed to the hotel for Harper to nap.
I had noticed two days earlier that she had two new teeth coming in...and naturally, they would cause problems the moment we arrived in West, TN.  This girl did not want to nap.
Generally a good napper in the pack n play (she does it 5 days a week with the nanny), she was not having it.  After an hour, I was able to calm her down and she napped on my chest.
Sweet baby getting in a small nap before heading back to the funeral home.
At the end of the day, we followed Josh's Memaw to her house (40 minutes away) to stay there for the night. We drove down this street...
Life Cut Off road...SKETCHY!
and then saw this...
Beautiful sunset over a barn.
Once we got to Memaw's, we noticed Harper eyeing the cat in the corner (fake cat).
She didn't quite know what to think of it.  So, she just sat there...Staring!
Josh tried to get her to pet it and she was not happy about it.
Instead, it was more fun cuddling with Memaw!
After a very restless night of sleep and a fever all morning, we packed up and headed back to the funeral home. Our sweet baby was in full on teething/fever mode and not feeling great at all.
Luckily, we had her medicine and were able to keep her happy with the iPad.
She was a perfect angel during the service and slept during the burial.
I heard some amazing news during the service I wanted to share.  Papa Blackie was not  Christian.  He even donated land for a church to be built, but never attended himself.  For the last few years, he has been living in the VA hospital and one day, one of the nurses really got to him. I don't know the full story or how it happened, but she helped lead Papa Blackie to the Lord.  Just a few months ago, he became a Christian and a true believer.
That same nurse joined the family during the service and is a true blessing to all of us!
PRAISE THE LORD!

Once we made it back home, this little one was worn out.
A little Olympics...
and Cuddles with daddy...and she was starting to feel like her old self again!
