Raleigh

This past weekend, Josh, Harper, and I went to Raleigh, NC to visit some friends.  We left Friday afternoon and a few hours later we were hanging with the Strange's like no time had passed at all.  We take turns visiting each other anually.  We were a little nervous to travel with Harper (last time she flew she was a baby) since she is easily distracted.  Here is a snapshot of our trip.
We took a limo (via the Parking Spot) to the airport.  Harper then got a ride on her daddy's shoulders through security. She loved being so high up.  She kept waving and saying hi to everyone.
We tried very hard to keep her distracted on the flight...so window browsing was the way to go.
Bye bye Nashville!

Her flight was during nap time and she didn't sleep a wink. Luckily, we had a cozy car seat for her to snooze in before we to their house. Once we were there, we put Harper down for her nap before Katie and Thomas arrived from school.
What a differenc a year makes.  Here they are February, 2012.
and now..
Harper loved playing with Thomas and all his toys!  They hit it off right away!
It was so great getting to catch up with old friends and watching our children play together.
They are 9 months apart in age...and are two peas in a pod.  Everything Thomas did, Harper was right behind him doing the same thing...or at least trying.
The Strange's (with baby Hentry arriving in just a few short weeks)
We went to the local park and got to ride a "choo choo".  Harper LOVED it!
She was pretty obsessed with the train and everything train realted at the park.
I thought it was such a neat place.
They had a train that went around the whole park, a carosel (closed for repair), and sever play grounds based on the ages of kids.
Josh and I even got in on the playground action!
Our last night there, we played and watched the superbowl.  These two were so much fun...and slept so well after every playtime!  They wore each other out.  We were sad to leave, but so glad we were able to go.
Here we are on the way home...another successful plane ride and trip down for little Harp
Car ride home...WORN OUT! Sign of a great weekend.
Below is a video of Thoams and Harper dancing the first night we were there.

Maggie turns 2!

Last Saturday, we went to Monkey's Treehouse to celebrate Maggie's 2nd birthday.  Harper just goes crazy at these places...jumping from thing to the next.  It is a great workout for me, especially b/c Josh was out of town. I recommend going to these places with two adults for every child! ha!
checking herself out
playing leggos with Callie
She got a little clingy when a few adults started talking to her.
She does have a bit of separation anxiety...but nothing a few cool toys can't distract her from.
Hugging Mary Whitley in the ball pit
Checking Callie out at the register
Really enjoying her cake pop

The birthday girl!
Best party favor ever!
She loved the glow stick and balloon attached.
It kept her entertained the whole (very dark) car ride home
Happy 2nd Birthday Maggie!

Harper: 16 Months (this past month)

This month has been very busy and a lot fun.  We celebrated Christmas with family and friends, went on play dates, and had an overall great month!

Harper-you never cease to amaze your dad and me.  Your vocabulary is growing and growing.  You are starting to pick up on words in songs and love to sing along.  The fresh beat band is still your favorite TV show and you love to dance along.  We love watching you.  You also like Sophia the first, Tinkerbell, and Tangled. This month, your 4 molars came in (I think they were starting last month) and you handled it pretty well.  You loved opening Christmas presents and having people at the house to play with you.  You also went on your first date (see below) and have been a great hostess with your friends.

Here are some more pictures of what you have been up to:

Working hard.
On her first date with Brooks (her head took
Sweet hugs with her new friend Isabelle.
Trying on Katie's shoes.
You are a monkey. You climb on anything and everything.  You also hit your head three different times on three different things.  You are starting to run, so you are bit careless with doors and coffee tables.
You are a big ham!  We were at the Barbers (next door neighbors) and you were working the room.  They put this fake frog on your head and you loved walking around trying to balance.
Over Christmas break, we had a play date with Mary Whitley and Audrey.
Mally is more and more tolerant of you everyday.
The morning of New Year's Eve, we had a play date and you were so welcoming with everyone.  Every time someone new walked in the door, you ran over, waved, and said "Hi!"
You got your first job at Lowes. You loved cleaning the floors.
You had your first chocolate kiss.
You love dancing to the Fresh beat band in the card.
We got you a new bed. hahaha, I'm so funny.  Just kidding.  You have the time of your life hanging out in this box.  You love to climb in and out.
You love your new swing.  We haven't been able to use it much b/c it's been cold...but when we have, you love every second!
More fun on the swing and more fun with Mally.
You are becoming more and more of a little girl.
We are having so much fun watching you play and grow!

Weekend Fun!!

We had a lot of fun with friends this weekend.  Friday afternoon, we were playing out side (it was almost 70 degrees) and we ran into Julia (5), our cute neighbor.  She loves babies and was so sweet with Harper.
Harper loved playing with her too!

Holding hands as we walked Julia home. Look at their cute shadows.

Saturday, we had playtime/dinner at the Vitucci's.  We were excited to play with them and the Pittas.  Taylor Grace, Allie, and Harper played pretty well together...or independently, in the same room.
Taylor Grace and Allie climbing the stairs.
Dance party in TG's room.
TG showing the "little kids" how to play with her toys.
Harper giving Allie a hug (looks like Allie is really enjoying it).
That's better.
Our best attempt at a girls picture.

Sunday night, we had dinner with the Mullis family.
We got to spend time with their newest edition Miles.
Josh and baby Miles.
Mason saying "cheese" for the camera.
Harper kept a close eye on Daddy while he held Miles.  Can we say jealous?
Sweet friends playing with together.
Saying goodbye...these two are so silly!
Such a dramatic goodbye...goofy kids.
Overall, what a fun weekend!
The older Harper gets, the more fun it is to watch her play with friends.  She really loves being around other people and playing with their toys!
