Houston got a visit from Michael Oher

How cool is this? Michael Oher visited Houston’s Kindergarten class today and read them a book.

EES Father:Daughter Dance 2020

Harper looks forward to this night every year...the Father:Daughter Dance.   She loves getting all dressed up and spending the evening with her dad.  She also loves seeing her friends and running off with them for half the night.  Josh said every slow song she came back and asked him to dance. I love they get to spend the night together.  This year's theme is Denim & Diamonds.

Valentine's Day 2020

Happy Valentine's Day from the Meadows Crew!
I just love that we have all 3 kids at the same school.  Houston even came home with a character award - his first one! We kept with our tradition where Josh took Harper on a date and I took the boys.  This year, we got a special guest, Boppy! A good time was had by all!

Snow Day

Snow Day Fun! We love a good snow day around here - especially when we get out of school! We got outside before it melted and even to go to see Millie Ruth - Theo's new baby sister.  We hope Ms. Topper, Mrs. Clinage, and Mrs. Gallardo are enjoying their school day too!

Us Lately

Here are a few winter pics of the crew! Harp continued her first basketball season with the Mustangs, dad flew over the house, we had fun at school, and dad played some tennis.  We have had a great month and can't wait to see what's coming up next.

New York City - A Great Way to Start the New Year!

So excited that we got to sneak away for another amazing weekend in New York City!  I love that this is becoming a tradition.  It's my favorite city and I love seeing how it changes, yet remains the same! This year, the Allen's joined us and we had a blast.  We did a scavenger hunt in Grand Central Station and we won!  We also had drinks at the top of the Rock, saw our boy Ricky at dinner, and even had tea in the Russian Tea Room.  Another great trip in the books!

Harlem Globetrotters Come to Nashville

Now that Harper is playing basketball, we thought she (and the boys) might like to see the Harlem Globetrotters when they were in Nashville.   We got the "early" passes and got to spend about 30 minutes meeting the team and learning new tricks.  Prior to the event, we had lunch at one of dads favorite lunch spots, Mellow Mushroom Downtown.  Overall, it was fun...but pretty sure the highlight for all was the unlimited amount of Sprite they drank.

Happy New Year 2020

This new year week was fun and eventful. We spent the last day of the 2019 rock climbing at the Crag and then prepared for a fun night at the Wherrys.  They Wherry's were gracious hosts having us and our kids.  Harper decided that night that her new year's resolution would be to love dogs.  She has really come a long way!
After the new year, we spent the last few days of Christmas break at Sound Waves Opryland and Harper got to visit her cousins in South Carolina with Bossy & Paw paw.  Looks like 2020 will be another great year with our family.

Christmas Morning 2019

Christmas morning was just as special this year as it has been in year's pasts.  With an 8 year old and two 5 year olds, we're starting to venture into some "big kid" toys.  They also took their time with each and really played with all their new stuff.  It was a wonderful morning spent at home and we loved every minute of it.  On the lists for Santa: Harper - a hover board; Gatlin - video game; Houston-pokemon cards.  I would say, Santa delivered!

Christmas Eve 2019

One of my favorite traditions is celebrating Christmas is the Christmas Eve service at Brentwood Baptist Church.  We were able to spend time with Bossy and Paw Paw and then had dinner at Mazatlan after (for the 4th year in a row). We love the candles and really taking time to celebrate Jesus and his birth.

Opening one present on Christmas eve.
