First Day of School: Gatlin & Houston 2017-2018

What a big year we have ahead of us!  Harper is starting kindergarten and Gatlin & Houston are going to be in separate rooms.  Due to some classroom changes by the school, Josh & I decided that it would be best to separate the boys.  They are together ALL the time and we thought a break might be good for them.  Something I consulted fellow teachers and prayed a lot about.  I knew we would do it eventually, so easing them in early made me feel better.  It does hurt my momma heart just a little...all 3 kids doing something totally different this year.  Anyway, today, the boys took their annual front porch pictures!

She also gets to have one last week with a few friends staying in Private Kindergarten and a few friends transitioning!

First Visit from the Tooth Fairy

A few weeks ago, Harper's big tooth started growing in behind her baby teeth.  This fun/freaky growth is called "Shark Teeth".  Apparently it's pretty common.  Anyway, her tooth was slowly getting more and more loose.  I finally got the courage to try and pull it myself b/c I was worried she would lose it at school and then literally lose it at school.  I tried last night...and nothing.  This morning, I told Harper to go to the bathroom and get dressed for school.  She came running out with her tooth in her hand! I couldn't believe it!  We officially have our first tooth lost and a visit from the tooth fairy!

That night, as she was getting ready to put it in the Tooth Fairy pillow, she got sad having to say goodbye to her tooth.

But the next morning she was pretty excited for her $1!

Pre-K Graduation

We officially have a Pre-K Graduate! 

Harper will continue to go to school through the summer...but the preschool Curriculum has officially ended. We are so proud of her poise and commitment to her graduation and the songs at the ceremony!

Kindergarten Sneak-A-Peak

Last Thursday, I got to take Harper to her kindergarten sneak-a-peak.  We met at a local church, hopped on the school bus (happened to get our neighborhood driver) and then drove to the elementary school. We were introduced to the kindergarten teachers, toured the school, and went into the cafeteria line to he a cookie! I may have had to hold back the tears twice.  I loved watching a timid little girl walk in squeezing my hand and walking out with her girlfriends! It really was so cute! Harper sat down next to a girl that just happens to live in our neighborhood. Her name is Katie and they hit it off right away. We even saw Katie the next day in the neighborhood and they hugged so hard and said I love you! Sweet friends. We also ran into old friends...a former classmate at daycare and a friend from church.  I know she felt so much better once she saw familiar faces.  It was a great day!
