I had a work trip in Charleston and stayed an extra day to spend some time with Aubrie, Brandon, Sloan & Miller! The first night I was there (for work), Aubrie met up with my work friends and me for a Ghost Tour. That was interesting... :) that stuff freaks me out but Aubrie loves it! The last day I spent the morning with the girls before my flight. We had some fun Aunt/Nieces bonding!

The Sounds Game
My company had a fun family night at the Sounds Game. Harper made a bunch of new friends and even made it on the Guitar Jumbo Tron. I love this new tradition and can't wait to take the boys
next year.

The kids were with grand parents and we headed downtown for a fun night!
Since I help plan our events, I was upgraded to a suite upon arrival.
We were pumped at our amazing views!
We were also delivered a bottle a wine and small platter.
Josh put on his Christmas best and was the hit of the party!
We had a blast at the dinner and managed to drag our old selves out to Broadway!
Josh was even invited on Stage b/c of his epic suit!
All the ladies wanted to take pictures with him.
It was comical!
The next day, we were able to see some of the Downtown Nashville Christmas Parade before enjoying brunch at Kitchen Notes!
I was pumped to finally try the biscuit bar!

Take Your Daughter to Work Day
Yesterday, Harper got sick at school. After a few hours of being sick and a good night sleep, Harper seemed 90% herself. Since she got sick at school, the rule is 24-hours vomit or fever free before you can return. Josh and I were so busy, we didn't feel we could take off work. We also didn't want to leave Harper around the boys all day...so I decided to take her with me to work.
I loaded up the snacks, DVD player, coloring book, blanket, and cot, and we headed to one job site in Mt. Juliet. We stopped by Target for supplies for a model home opening.
I had a conference all in a model home while Harper explored outside and...
took a few selfies. these make me laugh.
After the call, we hit up Salsarita's for lunch.
We moved on to the next model home in Lebanon.
Harper sat outside and colored while I prepped for a model home grand opening.

After that model home, we made the drive back to the main office in Franklin. I was hoping Harper would fall asleep in the car. I had no such luck.
So, I unloaded the cot and made a cozy area for her behind my desk.
Harper was not in the mood to sleep, so she put a cord on her head and started dancing.
I had another conference call and did about 2 more hours of work. Harper was really good all day. She listened, helped, and entertained herself when I could not. We had a fun day and it was great for both of us...
She passed out on the car ride home.
What a day!
What a day!

Work!
It's official. My maternity leave and vacation is over. Though I have always known I would be a working mom, I would get sick to my stomach thinking about heading back. I cannot put into words how much I have loved being at home with Harper!
Harper is staying with a friend and her daughter while Josh and I are at work. So far, the girls seem to be on the fast track to best buddies. Knowing Harper is in a great home really makes working easier.
The first day was the hardest! I had to wake up Harper an hour early. My usually happy-morning-baby burst into tears...then I did the same. I was a mess. Josh didn't know what to do when he walked in the nursery to find us both like that. Originally, Josh was going to take her to Katie's so I didn't have to say goodbye there...but he got called in to an early meeting. I got my pump, purse, diaper bag, and baby...and headed off to Katie's. We talked for a few minutes then I just had to walk out the door. I couldn't even say goodbye without crying. I bolted and then cried the whole way to the office.
When I arrived to the office, everyone was so nice and welcoming! They all wanted to know about the baby...I couldn't answer without tearing up. I told them to ask me in 3 weeks! I had a few meetings and stayed busy the whole time I was at the office--that really helped!
After work, I headed straight to Katie's to pick up Harper. It was amazing to see her smile a big smile when I got there! It was also nice to see she was having a good time with her new friends! That made the next two days much easier. I haven't cried since that first day and am slowly figuring out our new groove! As much as I love staying at home with Harper, I know that is a good decision for our family. It's not easy...but seeing her face at the end of the day is one of the best feelings in the world!
