First Day of School 2020-2021

Well, we weren't sure we would make it...but here we are!  The kids are going back to school! After missing March-May last year, they cannot wait to get back in the building and see their friends. The boys get to go back school in person and Harper is delayed two weeks.  So, we set up a classroom in the basement so she could do her daily routine with her friend Sullivan.

Here are a few changes this year: they will be wearing masks all day, eating lunch in their classroom, social distancing (as much as possible) in class - meaning rows, specials in their own classroom, and recess with only their classmates.  We know this year may look different than what they are used to, but it will still be amazing. We cannot wait to see how they grow this year!

First Day of School: Second Grade & Kindergarten

Well, it's official...all my babies are at Edmondson!  I cannot believe that we are officially finished with daycare.  Harper was so excited about her first day of school.  She couldn't wait to see her friends and head down the 2nd grade hallway. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Gallardo.  She was the music interim last year, so Harper already knows her (a little).  The boys don't officially start until next week (half the week), so Harper was on her own.
After we dropped Harper off, we took a few pictures of the boys to get them excited for their first day next week.
We even got see a little bunny in Ms. Cauthen's room.
Now, onto the big day!  A few days after Harper's first day, the boys had theirs.  It was a half day with half the class. They were both pretty excited.
I loved watching them walk into the school with their big backpacks.  Per usual, I was fighting back tears.  Thankfully, Gatlin has Tiffany Clinage - a long time friend - she always helps with MY first day jitters.

I gave my hugs and we said goodbye!  They Both had an amazing first day.
Now, onto the first FULL Week of school (and bus) for the boys. They were so ready to get on the bus with Harper.  Even more exciting, after they arrived home from their first full day with all their classmates, they got WELCOME signs!
Overall, they have adjusted to Kindergarten well and I am so proud of these boys! Looking forward to a wonderful year ahead.

Harper & Kindergarten

KINDERGARTEN!
How is this possible? My baby is going to big girl school.  OH MY HEART, I don't know if I can handle it. She has been safe in her primrose bubble for the last few years and now it's time for public school with all new friends.
To prepare, we went to "meet the teacher" night at school, saw her classroom, practiced opening lunch box items and wearing her backpack, and sporting new clothes!

Then came the first day! I was holding back tears the whole time. She looked so small walking in with that giant backpack.
She was so excited for her first half day at school! We took a family photo and I cried walking out.
She is so brave.

That week was off and on with school, so she was excited to also spend time at Primrose in the Kindergarten classroom with some of her buddies.

She cried on her "last day" at Primrose. So did I.
What a great first week!  Kindergarten friends, Primrose friends, Riding the bus with our neighbor Julia for the first time, posing with the new yard sign, being in Mrs. Clinage's class ,and I even came to lunch!.
