Gatlin & Houston are 4 Months Old!

Gatlin and Houston are 4 Months Old!
This last month they have really grown and changed.
We have gotten lots of smiles, laughs, and sore arms for lugging these two around!
We were very happy to hear that our little premie babies are significantly on the charts!
4 Month Stats:
Gatlin
Height: 23 3/4" - 10th%
Weight: 14 lbs. - 30th%
Head 42.3cm - 50th%
Houston
Height: 24 1/4" - 25th%
Weight: 13lbs. 12oz. - 25th%

(houston is on the left and gatlin is on the right in these pics)
and a little comparison of all my babies at 4 months.
below are a few shots from their doctor's visit
they got one shot in each leg and took an oral vaccine.
They were just how I predicted. Houston needed a lot of cuddles and rocking after.
Gatlin, cried for about 10 seconds and then just sort of fussed after that.
Happy 4 Months Buddies!

2 Months Old -Houston and Gatlin

Houston and Gatlin are two months old! Wow, it's so crazy how fast it has gone by (except in the middle of the night). Here are the stats:
Gatlin: 8 pounds 10 ounces
20.6" long
37.5 CM - Head

Houston: 8 pounds 14 ounces (one ounce away from Harper's birth weight)
21.3" long
38 CM-Head

These boys are still in the 1-3rd percentile for their age, but thriving for their gestational age.  Gestationally, they are 3 weeks old and the doctor is very pleased.
HAPPY 2 MONTHS!

I was a little nervous for their 2-month well check up b/c I was taking them alone. Josh had a work function...so it was just the 3 of us.  For Harper's 2-month well check up, I cried before they even gave her the vaccines.  I thought, I dont have the help today...KEEP IT TOGETHER (twice)!
Thankfully, the boys looked great, they held off on eating for a few minutes, and took the vaccines like champs!  Because Gatlin is my calm baby, he got his shots first.  I calmed him down with a pacifier and put him in the carseat.  Houston was next.  He had the "wind knocked out of me" cry and I almost lost it. As soon as he was done, I put him in the car seat and I shoved bottles in both their mouths.
I was prepared for feeding them the second the shots were over, hoping it would calm them down.  Thankfully, it worked! The boys did great...and I didn't cry!

Harper's 12 Month Check-up

Friday, we had Harper's 12 month check-up.
She is on track developmentally and all looks great!
When he checked out her mouth, he noticed the molars starting to swell in her gums.
Lately, she has been chewing on her hands and pulling at her ears...sign of teething.
He said it looks like the molars will be cutting through in the near future...fun times, I'm sure.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 23.5 lbs - 80th%
(her lowest percentile in weight)
Height: 30.6 inches - 90%
I forgot what they said for head.

Watching Eebee videos during her finger prick.
She was so good during all of it.
Praise the Lord for a healthy and happy baby!

Harper - this past month (10-11)

In one short month, you will be a year old.  Your daddy and I are so amazed we have an 11 month old.  It doesn't seem possible!  You have been so fun this month and really developing your own little personality.  Your vocabulary has increased...as well as your opinions.
You even took your first few (unassisted) steps this month.
Some of your favorite words:  Daay-ee (daddy), Ball (your favorite toy), Momma, No, Uh Oh, Are You (When asked where are you), and Nana.
Words you are working on: Per for Harper, Ths for Susie, Bo for Bossy.
When we ask you what a duck says, you respond with "guck".  It is so cute!
Here is a little glimpse of what you have been up to this last month.
Kissing the cute baby in the dishwasher
Morning baby--just like daddy
Love the water...even drinking it! yum.
Climbing on everything.
Walking with your push toys and taking a few steps here and there on your own.
Cruising around
Got your first job.  Not really. This picture is just proof how much you love people...even strangers.
Who needs their right leg in the bed to sleep?
Playing with Mally
love how you cross your feet when you eat. such a lady.
You threw all of these balls out of the pit in about 1 minute.  Balls are your favorite toy right now.
Saying goodbye to daddy when he went on his work trip. You love opening and closing doors.
Shoulder sit cuddles
Family night at Miyako
Yummy soup!
You just discovered the dishwasher...such a new fun place to sit!
At the beginning of the month, your top two teeth broke through. By the end of the month, you got the two outside center bottom teeth and top teeth. You now have 8 teeth (well, almost).

We love watching you grow and change every month.
Happy 11 Months Harper!

Harper's 9 Month Check-Up

Today, Harper had her 9 month check (1 week after she turned 9 months old).
Harper and Daddy in the waiting room lookin at the fish
More fish...

Harper's Stats:
Height 29 inches = 90%
Weight 21 lbs. 7 oz. = 88%
Head 44.5 cm = 60 %

Top teeth: with the help of the doctor, we were able to finally see a spouting top tooth bud in her gums.

Harper has jumped back up into the 90s for height and holding stead at 88% for weight.
We were looking forward to this appointment to see how much she has grown and to see about her new eating habits.  Starting around 9 months, table food and 3 meals a day are encouraged.
I had no idea where to start.
Over the last few months, she has tried sweet potatoes, avacado, and bananas.
Now, according to our doctor, Harper is welcome to eat anything (mushy/soft enough) on our plates...as long as it is not honey.
So, after the doctor, we had some lunch and Harper joined in on the good food!

Today she had chicken, fries, pita bread, and puffs (all very healthy).
