First Day of School 2015 - 2016

Today is Harper's first day in the Preschool II class.
She has moved to the "big girl" building, has new teachers, and a new playground!
She was so great! She just walked right in and was ready for the new year!
I think she is really excited about the classroom and computers.
Plus, they were off on Friday...so she missed her friends!
(sorry it's a little blurry--it was pouring)

New teachers: Ms. Abbie & Ms. Kristin
Have a great year Harper!

First Day of Dance 2015-2016

Harper was so excited that dance has started again!
She got a new leotard, new dance bag, and new tap shoes!
This year, she has tap, so she was so excited she got a dance bag to carry her shoes.
My little ballerina striking a pose!
New dance bag!
Waiting on everyone to find a seat and put their bags under their chair.

Bye Mom! See you after dance.
After Dance, she and Ava walked out hand-in-hand!
We missed our dance friends and are so excited to be back in dance!
{Big Thanks to Nana & the Gov for our Dance Year!}

Last Day in the Early Preschool Class

Today was Harper's last day in the Early Preschool Class with Ms. Leslie and Ms. Katelin.  Harper has been with Ms. Leslie since the day the boys were born (17 Months) and Ms. Katelin for just over a year.  They both transitioned into this classroom from her previous class.  It's very bittersweet for me, as they have been a huge part of her development over the last year+.  What a great year it has been!

Williamson County Fair

It's that time again! The Williamson County Fair!
We started going two years ago, when Harper was 1.
We love the fair.  My favorite part is the interactive farmers market.
Harper gets an apron and basket and collects corn and sheep wool.
she uses the corn to feed the chickens, cows, and plant crops.
she then collects her crops and farmer goods to "sell" at the farmers market.
She earns $1 and gets to buy a treat!

Selling her crops!
She earned $1 and got an ice cream sandwich!
RIDE TIME!
Frozen Spectacular!
More Rides
and Crafts!
It's tiring to go...but we had fun and the kids took great naps after!

Afternoon Craft!

My new favorite project is painting "stencils" on shirts!
This idea started when Harper had Dinosaur day at school and we didn't have any dinosaur t-shirts.
We went to the store and most of the shirts were long sleeves for fall...or super tacky.
I remembered a friend did "freezer paper" stencils on her kids shirts...so I went to pinterest and figured out how.
I got freezer paper, an exacto knife, fabric paint, paint brushes, and a t-shirt.
On the freezer paper, I drew a picture of a dinosaur.
(draw on the paper side)
I gut it out and ironed the freezer paper to the shirt.
I ironed all the little pieces back on the shirt so we would have a stencil look.
Harper painted...which was the fun part!

We peeled off the paper and here is our Dino!
I added a bow and toenail polish for an extra girly touch.
We loved this project so much, that we made some Tennessee Football Shirts!
The boys are ready for Football!

The Grand Ole Opry

We had the great opportunity to hear Pawpaw, Hoppy, and Rudy (aka the Gatlin Brothers) perform at the Opry last weekend.  I was informed that children under 18 are not allowed backstage unless direct descendants of the performers.  So, it was a pretty special experience for Harper...and a first!  She loved being able to sit on the side of the stage and watch everyone perform.

Posing with Paw Paw

Talking to one of the performers
I love how still she sat, just watching the show.
She got to meet Striking Matches!
She loved that the girl played guitar too!

I spy Paw Paw!

When we got home, Harper immediately got her guitar to play.
She even sang us a song just before bed.
