Harper's Trip to The American Girl Store

As a special treat for Harper's birthday, Bossy and Nana took her to get her first American Girl Doll.  She has been asking for one for months...so I thought this would be such a fun night!  We surprised her by meeting at the store and she was so excited!  She decided to pick out a "Truly Me" doll...the ones that look just like you.

Meet Isabelle!  She has brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin, her ears pierced, and a dress that matches Harper!
After we got Isabelle and all her outfits/accessories, we all had dinner in the American Girl Cafe.
Harper had the best time...and so did we!

She even got to decorate her own cupcake

She had a wonderful experience that she will never forget.
Thank you Nan and Bossy!

Houston Says

While riding Thomas the Train, we went under a bridge with graffiti.
Houston: (in a pretty loud voice) A, B, C, D...and so on...in his sweet version of the ABCs.

Thomas the Train

We surprised the kids with a visit to see Thomas the Train! The boys are pretty obsessed and Harper had a ball. We got to ride small trains, play games, get stickers, and take a three mile ride on Thomas!
What fun and hot day had by all!

First Day of School: 2016-2017

First Day of School 2016-2017
The first official day of school is here!  Everyone is transitioning to new classrooms at school and they are excited.  The boys are most excited about their backpacks! And of course, I could not let them have the purple dog collars...they needed to be personalized.
Here are some photos of the first day of school and Harper's first week in her uniform.

Bye Bye Pacifier

Yesterday, I was late to work b/c of the boys pacifier addiction.  I had been thinking for a while now (like a year and a half) that it was time to give them up.  B/c I ended up being late to a meeting, I decided it was time.  Josh was traveling - which was a good thing.  I know he would have given in if they weren't sleeping well.  So I pumped myself up all day.

I cut the pacifiers and then placed them back in their cribs.  I knew I had to cut them or I would be digging them out of the trash.
It was time for bed (I was nervous and ready).  I put the boys in their cribs and immediately they put them in their mouths to find they weren't working.  UH OH!

I told them they were broken and we had to throw them away.  Gatlin marched right to the trash.  Houston on the other hand was a little reluctant. He had to suck every last pacifier he had before saying "bye bye paci".  After that, we went back to bed and Gatlin laid right back down and went to sleep.  Houston cried for about 4 minutes and that was it.  ALL DONE!  that easy.  They mentioned them the next night once.  I reminded them where they were and then they went to sleep.  THANK GOODNESS for easy boys!  YAY.  BYE BYE PACI!

Happy Birthday Nana & Gov

Harper picked out birthday presents for Nana and the Gov this year.  She was so excited to give them their presents.  We love you both and hope you had a great birthday weekend!
